I realized I skipped a few days since I arrived in Pattaya. There were some days when I did not do much. My routine has mostly been waking up and getting breakfast. Because of the bed bug bites I got on my first day at the first hostel in Pattaya, my skin becomes extremely itchy in hot weather. I have to stay in a cold room most of the time, and my room is the only one in the hostel with air conditioning. I usually wait until sunset to go out for a short walk, even though it is still hot. I have been taking oral medication, Claritine, almost every day since day 2 in Thailand. I am really glad I brought it before the trip.
Today I got up and had my 20 baht white bread from TOP I bought previously, along with chocolate spread that is usually meant for ice cream. It works for bread too, but it is very runny. It tastes great and I think it is quite cost effective. Then I stayed in my room and worked on my laptop most of the time because my deadline is at midnight. Over the last few days, I have been glued to my laptop and staying in the hostel a lot.
During the day I got hungry quite early, so I went to the nearby 7 Eleven and TOP. Luckily, 7 Eleven and Tops are just across the street from the hostel. My white bread was running out, so I decided to get more. While browsing at Tops, I saw a crab snack that reminded me of a snack I used to eat when I was younger. I could not help but buy it. To my surprise, it slightly less flavorful, but still not bad. I finished all of it in one day because I could not stop munching.
At night, I decided to go out to get food. I wanted to buy Pad See Ew from a hawker nearby because I bought it from her a few days ago. She was not at her usual spot last night, so I was hoping she would be there tonight. Unfortunately, she was not there again. The last time I bought from her, it was only 50 baht because I did not want any meat in my food. I was thinking that if she was not there again, I would just go back and eat the instant noodles I bought a few days ago as an emergency meal. But for some reason, I kept walking. About 20 minutes later, along Jomtien Beach, I was still hoping to find another hawker. There were many along the road, but most of them were selling meatballs on sticks. I guess my search for Pad See Ew was still hopeful. Then, to my surprise, I ended up at a night market. I went inside and it was crowded. There were many hawkers selling delicious food. I ended up buying mango sticky rice for 50 baht. I brought it back to the hostel and it tasted good. The portion was not enough to make me full since I am a big eater, but I was satisfied.
